The 16th Street Mall is one of Denver‘s premiere shopping venues and it is also one of the best in the state of Colorado. This fascinating mall offers shoppers and tourists a variety of items. Clothing and record stores, multiple restaurants and entertainment are available for everyone at this shopping complex which is located in the heart of the city.

One of the reasons why the 16th Street Mall is so popular within Denver has to do with its prime location. The mall can be easily accessed by residents and visitors from any part of the city. Transportation to the mall isn’t a problem at all for most people. Many people within the city of Denver own automobiles and they frequently drive to the mall when they want to visit the area.

When motorists drive their vehicles to the mall they have to park at one of the parking garages that are located in the area and then walk or take a shuttle over to the mall. The 16th Street Mall doesn’t allow cars to be driven through the mall area. Since the mall is located along 16th Street and Arapahoe then these streets are not usually accessible by vehicular traffic.

Parking shouldn’t be a problem and according to the Downtown Denver Partnership, the city of Denver offers 44,000 off-street parking spaces throughout the area. This means that visitors will have a place to park and they can either take a shuttle or a bus that will place them at or near the mall.

The Denver transportation system known as Regional Transport District has partnered with the 16th Street Mall and provides shuttle service to this shopping area. The name of the shuttle is called Free MallRide and it travels along all of 16th street transporting customers to and from the mall. The Free MallRide shuttle travels between the Union Station near Chestnut and the Civic Center Station near Broadway. Not only does this shuttle get passengers to the mall it does so without costing them a dime.

Free MallRide shuttle service begins at 5:00 A.M. and it runs until 1:30 in the morning the following day. This means that visitors can attend the mall during the late night hours. During the weekdays MallRide shuttles will run every 3 to 6 minutes and on the weekend they will operate about every 15 minutes.

Visitors and tourists who travel to the mall should be aware of the fact that it is located within blocks of the main attractions in the downtown area of the city. Denver’s performing Arts Center, the Convention Center, the Pepsi Center, Coors Field and the City Lights Pavilion are all located within the same vicinity as this mall. So the Free MallRide can place passenger’s right in front of or a few blocks from these attraction areas.

People can also take a taxi or light rail to get near the mall but once again the Mall FreeRide shuttle is the only type of transportation that is allowed on the streets next to the mall area. Other modes of transportation will get visitors to the mall near the sops but once again they will have to walk or take a shuttle onto the mall’s shopping grounds.
