Event on 2012-06-15 19:00:00

Denver Alumnae of Chi Omega is committed to supporting the Make A Wish Foundation of Colorado which grants the wishes of Colorado children with life threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.  Join Chi Omega and KLove FM for the sweetest event of the year, Delicious Wishes, a dessert reception and silent auction to help grant the wish of a Colorado child.

Thousands of children in Colorado are battling life-threatening medical conditions and each just have one wish waiting to be granted. To make these dreams a reality, Denver Alumnae of Chi Omega and KLove FM have joined together to host Delicious Wishes, a dessert reception and silent auction on Friday, June 15 at 7 p.m. to benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado.

The fundraiser will be held at Marriot City Center (1701 California St) where guests will nibble on tasty desserts, enjoy a signature cocktail and bid on a stellar line-up of silent auction items, including 4 rounds of golf at Cherry Creek Country Club, Chef’s Dinner for 8 at Earl’s, an one day ski lift pass for two at Arapahoe Basin, and even an African Safari vacation! Plus so much more!

All event proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado and children, like Jaeda,  whose wish was to train to be a Coast Guard rescue swimmer. “It’s just so exciting – jumping out of a helicopter,” Jaeda said. “We had practiced being hooked up to the harness in the hangar earlier in the day, but I never could have imagined how exhilarating it actually was to be lowered out of a helicopter into the ocean. Maybe after I get my degree I’ll go into the Coast Guard to be a pilot,” she said. “This really has opened a lot of doors for me.”

However, so many others are still waiting for their wishes to be granted. So far, the Colorado chapter has granted more than 3,600 wishes and this year alone will grant 250.

About Chi Omega
One of Chi Omega's Six Purposes is philanthropy and community service. Its Founders thought it important for Sisters to devote time to causes greater than themselves. Throughout its history, Chi Omega charged each collegiate and alumnae chapter to adopt a philanthropic project according to their local communities’ needs.

In 2002, Chi Omega announced the Chi Omega/Make-A-Wish alliance. Since the start of the alliance, Chi Omega has raised over .5 million and given over 400,000 volunteer hours. The Make-A-Wish Foundation® recognizes Chi Omega as one of their Cause Champion sponsors.

Chi Omega's goal is to have both collegiate and alumnae chapters become increasingly involved in volunteering and fundraising for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® and to assist in the granting of wishes to these special children. Through this, all Chi Omegas can understand the importance of service to others as a founding principle of our Sisterhood.
