MCA DENVER WELCOMES BACK BLACK SHEEP FRIDAYS

The drop-in Friday evening events in MCA Denver's rooftop café offer a unique combination of music, games and weirdness starting October 11, 2013.

The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (MCA Denver) today announced the return of “Black Sheep Fridays,” a program that merges unadulterated eccentricity with fresh cocktails and world-class art. Every Friday this fall, museum goers can experience a wide range of topical events including “Debating for Guffman,” in which comedians debate the merits of Waiting for Guffman vs. Waiting for Godot, or “Tailor Swift” where visitors can listen to Taylor Swift songs while their pants are hemmed. Black Sheep Fridays create an atmosphere of nuttiness, a place where patrons can experience something completely out of the ordinary before stepping back into the museum’s pristine galleries for a moment of reflection.

“We’ve been hunting the dark corners of pop culture for months to create this year’s series of Black Sheep Fridays,” said Andy Lynes, MCA Denver’s visitor services and shop senior manager, who also happens to curate the program. “Since museum admission is just after 5PM on Fridays, Black Sheep Fridays is an economical way to enjoy the traditional and not-so-traditional experiences we offer.”

Black Sheep Fridays runs weekly October 11–December 20, 2013, from 7–9PM in the MCA Café. Visitors can stop by anytime during the evening to experience the fun.
